Although’asana’ is only one of the eight known kinds of yoga, both terms are now being taken as one because since both are concerned with mental and spiritual well being than in only exercise.

Because yoga is packaged for the Western culture, it is now best described as a general term that includes varied disciplines. And now, yoga is more popularly known to folks as a kind of discipline that varies from one idea to another. Unfortunately, today the term “yoga” is now also viewed as a discipline that deals with only physical. But the fact is it is a mind and body discipline which helps you prepare for meditation. The yoga exercises are not the end in themselves but actually a means to the end, which is the inner peace and happiness which comes from meditatin. Choosing a yoga teacher

Another basic thing you should know about yoga is that you should never force yourself into positions you know you can’t get into. Listen to your body and know when to stop. Real hatha yoga is beneficial to you, and not at all competitive and potentially injurious. So remember that when you are looking for a yoga teacher. Do not learn from a yoga teacher who forces you to do things or pushes you, etcetera. You are the one who can feel what’s going on in your body and are therefore the best judge to what you can and can’t do and how far you can go that day. Of course, try to do your very best each day.

Practicing yoga

Done through the performance of poses, the majority might think that yoga is just about stretching, uttermost concentration and peculiar poses. True, you see folks practicing yoga doing some kind of’acrobatic’ stunts, but those stretching aren’t just easy flexing of muscles : these are creative processes that balance the body to develop agility, suppleness and strength. Since each pose has a specific physical benefit, the poses in yoga can be done in succession to make heat in the body through movement that will increase an increase in stamina.
