Things that You and Your Yoga Partner Should Know When Taking Yoga Classes
Obesity is one of the biggest problems among people in the United States nowadays. Poor diet and lack of exercise are two of the biggest reasons for obesity. Fortunately, we all can lose weight if we eat well and exercise much. Unfortunately, a lot of people start an exercise program like yoga only to give up after a few sessions thus, they never really lose their excess pounds.
If you are one of those people who are easily bored or discouraged, you will mostly like find some excuses not to attend your yoga classes after a couple of sessions. To help you overcome this kind of attitude, you will need a yoga partner who can help you stay in the right course.
Your yoga partner could be your spouse, your friend or a family member who is also enrolled in the same yoga class as you. Being in the same yoga class is very important to provide mutual understanding and support. Having someone to talk to is very important especially during those trying times when you feel you are not making progress and you are ready to give up.
Working Out with Your Yoga Partner
There are a few things that you need to remember when working out with your yoga partner. Before going to yoga class, you and your yoga partner should not eat a big meal. A big meal takes time to digest and feels heavy on the stomach. Instead of eating a big meal, you and your partner should settle for a light meal a few hours before your class starts.
Light meals should contain plenty of fruits and vegetables. If you and your partner lives apart and you do not meal your meals together, you should make it a point to remind each other not to each too much before class.
During your yoga class, you and your yoga partner should avoid drinking water. Yes, it is perfectly alright to drink water before and after your yoga classes but never during classes. Drinking water while doing yoga poses can give you an upset stomach. Also, never eat during classes.
If you or your partner has some eating problems and one or both of you always feel this urge to munch on something every now and then, make a pact with your yoga partner to check each other’s bags before entering the fitness center. Both of you must not bring food inside the fitness center. You can eat after your class but never during your class.
